Route part A visit Rotterdam, Lelystad, Leeuwarden, Schiermonnikoog (9 nights)
This part of the world tour starts in a metropolis: Rotterdam
Day one. Arrival Rotterdam This day you will visit the Urban Jungle with a City Tour the ‘secrets of Rotterdam’ by bike. This gives you to see the incredible diversity of Rotterdam and many unknowns treasures of Rotterdam. stay is a stylish hotel with fantastic breakfast in a hip area of Rotterdam and nicely centrally located at the Erasmus bridge, or camping/camper
Day two. Biesbosch/Dordrecht National Park, After a delicious breakfast you leave in a special way to the jungle namely by water bus from Rotterdam to the Biesbosch. Here you will make a journey of discovery through the jungle. For today there is a walking excursion and trip on the waterways of the jungle with canoe or whisper boat. After this jungle experience you will return to Rotterdam by water (option is stay in the jungle)
Day 3. Oostvadersplassen, Today you will travel again by car and we have mapped out a special route. After Almere you go inside and you can already see the first contours of the savannah on one side and the Markermeer on the other. After arriving at the hotel, the walk through the Savannah starts with a beautiful tour from which you can determine distance on location. The stay this evening is with a view of the natural park floating in an ark. or camping/camper
Day 4. Lelystad/Marker wad, After waking up to the sounds of the birds and having breakfast, set off for an idyllic trip to the uninhabited island. This morning there is a place for you on the classic 3 master. Together with a guide you will discover one of the youngest nature parks in the Netherlands, namely the Marker wad. You will take a walk of about 2 hours, after which you will sail back to Lelystad. Option is to stay this night in Lelystad in the tree house in Lelystad here is also the possibility for camping / camper
Day 5. Urk, After a delicious breakfast whether or not at the top of the tree, you leave a little further north to discover the cloud forest. You will get an explanation about the waterworks and go for a nice walk through the forest. In this special place you will find remnants of the research into the Delta Works, but also of waterworks for exotic places such as the port of Lagos or Libyan port. If you want to see more of the cloud forest, a visit to the butterflies and reptiles from the cloud forest is a fitting conclusion. Then head to Urk for the overnight stay in this iconic village. In the evening (or next morning) there is a circular walk with local guide to tell you more about local life. or camping/camper
(Option is an extension with an extra night for a visit to the Weerribben with Giethoorn and stay on a beautiful houseboat in black lock). or (option is an extension with extra overnight stay and a full-day tour to Enkhuizen where you will visit this forgotten part of North Holland by steamboat and steam train).
Day 6. Leeuwarden, Just added from the cloud forest there is for today a visit to the ‘Dutch Mangrove forest’ Alde Feanen. Here we have a canoe waiting for you with which you will discover this beautiful area over the water. After this sporty tour you will travel a short distance to spend the night in Leeuwarden. Depending on the interest, you can discover the old town with a city walk, a tour with a gondola or discover the culinary hotspots. This evening you will stay in a special place namely the prison with a small adjustment to make it atmospheric. or camping/camper
Day 7. Lauwersoog, After waking up in Leeuwraden and a coffee on one of the many terraces you are ready for another trip. In Lauwersoog a tough forester is ready to give you a game drive with his 4×4 right through the park of Lauwersoog. You will get to places where you can not come during the walks and with a bit of luck you will spot the complete ‘Big five’ Before or after the safari tour there are still nice walks to take or a bike ride. You will return to your stay in Leeuwarden in the evening. Option is to stay in the park where the tug Willem is waiting for you. You can also go with the eel fisherman and smokehouse.
Day 8 and day 9 Schiermonnikoog, After an intensive week through the most varied nature and cities of the Netherlands, it is time for some peace and quiet. Today you leave by boat to relax on the beach of Schiermonnikoog (car free) for 2 nights. Upon arrival, bicycles are ready to discover the island. To hear the personal stories and insight into the life of the island, we also have a guided tour for you. Stay outside the weekend is in a lovely hotel on the stand or in a hotel in one of the villages or campsite (camper is not possible here)
